Sustainability Series: How You Can Make Every Day Earth Day On the Go

Next in our Sustainability Series, WE’ve got some great tips for how you can make every day Earth Day while you’re on the go.

With the world opening up and the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel shining brighter each day, WE all have a chance to make sustainable choices when we’re out and about.

Get Some Reusable Produce Bags
WE all know that bringing reusable grocery bags when you do your weekly shopping is key to helping the Earth. But, have you invested in reusable produce bags yet? Ditch those plastic disposable bags in favor of a more sustainable choice when you’re picking out your fruits, veggies, and other fresh produce!

Buy Carbon Offsets When You Drive or Fly
It’s difficult to cut out cars and planes from our lives altogether, but you can buy carbon offsets when you travel so that you’re reducing the overall impact on the environment. Check out organizations like Cool Effect or The Ocean Foundation to calculate your carbon offset and directly contribute to projects helping address climate change.

Go Car-Lite
Can you commit to getting around on foot, on a bike, or with public transportation once a week? Not only is going “car-lite” good for your health, but it also cuts down on carbon emissions, saves you money, and helps connect you to your community.

Wear Reusable Masks
Disposable masks and other PPE have become a huge contributor to plastic waste since the onset of the pandemic. Invest in reusable masks that you can hand wash and line dry instead. If you do end up using disposable masks, remember to cut the straps to help protect wildlife.
